When I was younger, before I got my drinking legs I usually liked those malt liquor drinks but Zima was just wrong. Contrary to what other people said, it didn’t taste nasty, it just didn’t taste anything. You’d get more flavor from a glass of water with lemon squeezed in it. Now if you want nasty, that would be Mike’s Hard Lemonade. That crap tastes of burning. It’s like what you would get if you took some lemon-flavored cold medicine and let it ferment. No, even that does not describe the nastiness well enough. ---

One of the guys on my floor freshman year used to drink Zima with a Jolly Rancher. He rightfully took a bunch of shit for it. ---

“Excuse me, I ordered a Zima - not emphysema.” Years ago, a buddy of mine helped my younger sister move into an apartment. Her weird little roommate dude said he’d supply some drinks as thanks after the move. We assumed some cold beer. It was Zima. I hope Zima’s death was slow and excruciating. ---

I’m not going to miss Zima, but it holds a special place in my heart. When I saw Pulp Fiction for the first time in the theater I had just sat down when my buddy handed me a Zima. Seems my friends had bought some and snuck it into the theater. We were wasted on Zima and Milwaukee’s Best while Uma Thurman and John Travolta danced. Somehow I think Tarantino would approve. ---

Are you sure? There was lotsa boning in college, as I recall. And plenty of times when a thumb ended up in a hole. Also: Mike’s Hard Lemonade had the BEST ADS EVER. ---

Zima was a Coors product and they heard about people putting Jolly Ranchers in their Zimas so they re-released them with a variety of Jolly Rancher Flavors. The reason I know this is I did the Coors tour almost every day for 5 years and they used to have either Zima or Zima slushies in the bar there. I really liked the slushies but when I went on the tour over Halloween they no longer offered them and I was crushed at least I now know why. Zima’s were a waste of beer but damn did they make great slushies. ---
