Some of the best and most informative threads are from the past. The board had really good GQ posters in the 00ā€™s. People with specialized backgrounds answering questions. Most of them have drifted away and too busy to post anymore. Dismissing older threads as Zombies is a disservice. Some threads are better than others. Some perhaps arenā€™t worth reviving. But many are and they are often new too me. I wasnā€™t here before 2009 to read those old threads. ---

Some of them are folks that have been around since then and havenā€™t drifted away, and others are relatively new posters who werenā€™t around in the aughts. Though, yes, it is refreshing to see occasional reminders of those who arenā€™t around any more. ---

Years ago, someone on the Boards pointed out that troll/newbie/etc traffic increases tend to coincide with college breaks. Donā€™t know if that still holds true, but it sounds reasonable. ---

As I said, posters arenā€™t banned because they made ā€œa few mistakesā€ (unless those ā€œmistakesā€ were very serious ones). They were banned for persistently violating rules even after they had been given multiple chances to change their behavior. ---

I have never seen a poster banned for making a few mistakes. In order to get banned, you have to show a consistent pattern of bad behavior. This is also getting pretty far off topic for a thread about zombies. If you want to discuss bannings, start a new thread. ---
