A third vote for **Redneck Zombies** , here. Also, as Lightnin’ said, Dead-Alive is excellent. Anything from George Romero’s “Dead” trilogy is good. And you might get a kick out of the parody, “Return of the Living Dead”. ---

Damn, this is a tough one. I have to say, **Dawn of the Dead** is probably the best zombie movie ever, no doubt about it. As for personal favorite, though, I’d go with either **Dead Alive** for asinine gross out humor factor (the lawnmower scene at the end is just classic!), or the good ol Chinese film, **Bio-Zombie**. The main characters’ names alone are great. The heroes Crazy B and Woody Invincible, and the female leads, Jelly and Rolls. The dubs get ridiculous at points, and it’s one of the only zombie films that recognizes the existance of other zombie movies (in fact, it’s playing “House of the Dead 2” that helps them figure out how to kill the zombies). Fantastic fun, a great movie. **Wild Zero** is also really enjoyable, but mainly for the Soundtrack. It’s pretty much the equivilant of **Kiss vs. the Phantom of the Park**. It moves really slow at some points and kinda drags, but it’s still great fun. It also recognizes previous zombie films, but everyone admits they never bothered to see any, so they’re completely clueless anyway. Plus, electic super guitar picks! This movie made me a HUGE Guitar Wolf fan, they’re fucking fantastic! ROCKANDROLL!!! One word of advice, though…everyone else seems to sing his praises, but any zombie film by Lucio Fulcci ( **Zombie, The Beyond, the Gates of Hell** ) suck ass!!! These movies are absolute shit, don’t even bother wasting your time. I can appreciate his work as a student of the theater of the grotesque, but his zombies are incredibly lame and tend to teleport…these three “classic” zombie movies are a waste of time. ---

I dunno… I still think “Night Of The Living Dead” tops 'em all. Followed closely by “Dawn of the Dead”. Nostalgia value, I guess. Those two scared the hell out of me… ---

I always get stuck when I think of “The Best Zombie Movie,” because I want to reserve that for **Night of the Living Dead** because it was the original. It was a fantastically scary movie, very well done, and became the guideline for virtually every zombie movie made since. But at the same time, **Dawn of the Dead** is much more involved and overall, a better movie. Maybe not as scary, what with the long break in it where the main characters are not being constantly harrassed by zombies, but that little break helps to set up an entirely different type of fear…the fear that no matter what you do, no matter where you go, or how hard you try and mask it…there’s just no escape. That’s just truly terrifying. On the other hand, **Night of the Creeps** is a wonderfully silly, self depreciating film that, if you’re in the mood for zombies but not overly scary, fits the bill perfectly. ---
