I’m less concerned about it being green than I am about it being alive.
Because much of my lawn is shaded by trees not on my property, I have no control over the amount of sunlight my lawn gets. I’ve always seeded in the spring, but it never really takes, and I’ve taken to joking about going out every week to “mow the moss.”
I know how well it’s taken in my father’s yard, and I would prefer brown grass to spotty patches interspersed with weeds. The low maintenance is a big factor, as well, as I get very busy at work during the spring and summer, and can’t tend to such things as much as they may need it.
Yep, as soon as the snow from the “Blizzard of Aught-Three” melts, I’m gonna ask dad if I can swipe a few plugs and start cultivating Zoysia.
