As it turns out I have a day to relax in Zurich. I will be flying from the States on a Wednesday and arriving early Thursday morning. My train leaves the next morning. I know, just one day…Anyhow, I want to make the best of it in a relaxing manner. I like exploring new cities, like museums (art) , and would like a casual place to grab a bite and a drink. I will stay overnight in a hotel by the train station, so I will be in the city center. Would appreciate, opinions, recommendations… ---

Well, I was there just a few months ago. I stayed with friends for a few days and I tend to not go all out on the tourist thing when I am traveling. I recommend the Künsthalle (or was it the Künsthaus? I’m pretty sure it’s the ‘halle’) which has good Modern art. I didn’t eat out much, but I liked the vegetarian restaurant Hiltl. [http://www.hiltl.ch/restaurant.php](http://www.hiltl.ch/restaurant.php) Whatever else you do, I’d recommend walking along the Limmat, it’s the most beautiful city river I’ve seen; much cleaner than the Thames, the Tiber, or the Seine. Maybe take a boat on the Limmatsee. Maybe walk up the Uetliberg. It’s a beautiful city. ---

Though extremely bare inside, the [Grossmünster](http://www.sacred-destinations.com/switzerland/zurich-grossmunster.htm) is worth a look.
