Since when does Rush Limbaugh get to call Bonnie Rait and the Boss "drug addled"?

Well, to be honest, this conservative isn’t all that crazy about Rush himself. He (in my opinion, of course) is smart as hell, very clever and can be quite entertaining. I used to listen to him quite a bit. But his crack about Chelsea Clinton really eroded my respect for him, and I started to gravitate away from him, and now I haven’t listened to him for years.

I’ve also come to realize what some of my opponents on the other side have been saying. Namely, that whether one takes him seriously or not, he is so good at making the other side look alternatively clever, devious and underhanded…or so stupid, lame and air-headed, that it really does breed hatred and intolerance. But I still was glad he was around because he was a mobilizing force to counteract the liberal bias that was so obvious and prevalent up to that time. Now, however, with the success his influence has had in mobilizing and motivating the right to take action, and with the success of Fox helping to obviate media bias elsewhere – the liberal wing has perceived its own threat and begun to try to fight fire with fire.

These things have played a significant role in the extreme polarization that currently exists in this country, with each side virtually hating the other.

(That’s one reason I think this board is a good thing. You can interact with those on the other side and see that they have what they perceive as legitimate reasons for feeling the way they do, and by observing them in non-political forums you can see that they’re really pretty nice, smart, knowledgeable people who are happy to be helpful if they can. I know I’m much less anti-left (on a person-to-person basis, that is :D) than I was before I came here.

So basically I’m not a fan of Rush’s, but I since we’re supposed to be about finghting ignorance here, and since false attribution from the left is just as bad as from the right, I stand with Larry Mudd in asking Apos why there’s been no cite?
