I have been watching Band of Brothers over the past week or so (a colleague taped the series). Last night I watched the episode where they arrive in Southern Germany and find a concentration camp outside a small town. My question is how do they film the concentration camp scenes: these people are incredibly emaciated. Do they find people who are sick? Use dummies? Some sort of makeup magic? It was very realistic and many of the people just seemed like sacks of bones. Very sad if you have not seen it and more than a tad surreal.

If it's anything like I've seen on "The Patriot" they used a lot of dummies. They may even have used some standing up, being supported by an actor. It's amazing what you can get away with if you only show a snippet of film.

I saw the same episode you did, and they did a good job of recreating the feel and look. Must have been a grim few days of shooting.
