The Voice of Aku

So, my friends and I have recently discovered the cartoon Samurai Jack, which I strongly urge you to look into, if you like cartoons. We have watched nearly every episode over the last two weeks. It's that good.

Tonight, we sat down to watch Conan the Barbarian, which is... not so good. However, it does have this really cool narrator guy, who sounds just like Aku, from Samurai Jack. We were joking about this for about an hour (every time he would talk, one of us would start: "Long ago, in a distant land...").

We finally went to look up who did the voice in Conan, and it's the same guy who did Aku! We so called that. Just had to share our neat discovery with others.

Wow--that's random but cool. I've seen Samurai Jack and endured Conan, but I never followed up on the connection.

Your friends must be pretty sharp. And quite the ladies men. Except for Nikhil, of course. Remember when he made that weird face and made the beeping noises? That was hilarious. Er, that's what I gather from your post, anyway. You're a lucky guy to have such brilliant and personable friends. Take it from an impartial third party, such as myself.

I may be mistaken, but I think it's the old Chinese guy who was in Tremmors and Big Trouble in Little China.

Gorgon, you are mistaken. It's a Japanese actor named Mako in both Conan the Barbarian (which is not a bad movie, despite what some might say) and Samurai Jack. The Chinese actor it isn't (but who appeared in Big Trouble in Little China as Lo-Pan) is James Hong.

Why, greatZebu, what apt comments, especially for someone as independent as yourself. I too worry about Nikhil sometimes.

Hey, we should finish playing Metal Slug.

"But he's wearin' a dress!"
"Shut it!"

At least you're not threatening to use anyone's head as a flour sifter...yet

Yes, it is the great Mako. Unmistakable voice, fearless actor in countless cheesy movies. Not to be confused with James Hong, fearless actor in countless cheesy movies and a few damn good ones (such as Chinatown).
