Are there any good sites that list Mental Health Practitioners (LCSW, MFT, MCH, etc.) along with biographical information or areas of practice / speciality?

I’ve got a list of referrals from my health insurance company, but there are so many I don’t know where to start. I’d like to get a better handle on what they’re like before I start cold calling. Any help would be appreciated, and if this is more of an IMHO topic I apologize.

You might try calling a university counseling center in your area and asking for a referral. See if the names they give you are on the list. Your state’s professional organizations (e.g., NASW) might have referral lines where you can learn more about some of your local therapists. Asking around for the therapy recommendations of people you trust might work, too.
