How weird! I go to lileks.com at least once a week, just for fun. I was there, I believe it was Thursday or Friday (not sure...my week ran together because I was sick every day) and clicked on the dayalets link, and it took me to "page not found". (A funny one, though!)

He must have gotten this on pretty recently. Thanks for letting us know, Eve!

I saw that last night. Jaw dropped to my clavicle as I slowly gargled out, "What...

...the...

f---..."

Although I like his fry-fingers.

I've seen that guy before. I think it was in a National Geographic article about wooden African tribal figurines.

Gotta love: "Mealtime hit - or severed limb? And must they be mutually exclusive?"

Perhaps a new sig?

Hey! I've got this one. The Fantastic Four Big-Little Book:

http://lileks.com/institute/biglittle/10.html

Back when I got it, I argued with a friend about whether the drawings (uncredited) were by Jack Kirby, who drew the FF back then (created them, in fact, from Stan Lee's script). We concluded that he did -- those characters had Jack Kirby mouths.

But there are Big-Little books a lot worse than these from the late 60s. I know. I got 'em.

Hey! The Invaders wasn't Irwin Allen -- it was Quinn Martin. It had the "Prolog" and four "Acts" and an "Epilog".

And I love the awful drawing of Roy Thinnes, too.

I have this one, too. And the Man from U.N.C.L.E. one.

What?! That bum!

I e-mailed him a while back to let him know that I had ALL the Family Circle recipe books he didn't have, and he never got back to me! Now he's creaming all over himself because "Patron Jody" sent him ONE?

:::grumble grumble::: Perhaps he didn't get the first notice. I'll send it again...politely...

The scariest part, is that my mom HAD those cards and I remember them! I looked for them last time I was at her house but she must have thrown them away. A mind blowing concept for my parents. They keep EVERYTHING. My father has medication that expired in 1974, but won't throw away. (and he's a dentist for God's sake, you'd think he'd know better)
