South Park - 3/19/03 (spoilers)

Great comeback after several weeks/months haitus.

The Jeff Goldblum scientist was just as annoying as the real thing, but funny when he mentioned his plan to upload a computer virus to the alien tractor ship.

Chef: "What are you talking about!?"

And the alien that morphed/appeared as a giant taco that crapped ice cream.. hilarious!

God, I hated that character. I know he was supposed to be annoying, but there is a limit to how annoying you can be and still be funny.

Kyle: "Dudes, you know this is only the second time we've been in outer space?"

Cartman: "Well, it's more like 5 for me."

---

Scientists at presentation: "Hey, we're on TV!"

Wonderful episode.

I hated it. I haven't seen too many of the recent ones but I thought this one was especially stupid.

I didnt like it. This is like the third episode to deal with this general premise and I didn't really like the other ones either. Though that scientist character was kinda funny.

Did anyone else hope that maybe Douglas Adams' estate wasn't watching this episode?

I still think Southpark can be awfully funny.

Anyone notice the two network aliens looked exactly like the Nazi-era caricatures of Jews? Not that I was particularly horrified or offended, just sayin' . . .

Wasn't their corporate planet also their homeworld, which the announcer's voice said, "controlled all media in the universe"? There was also the part where Kyle liked the alien food and one of the producers said Kyle must've had some Joozit (or whatever homonym of "Jewish" they used) lineage in him.

Oh, right—I did catch the Kyle/food thing, but the "controlled all media" escaped me. I hardly think South Park was trying to offend Jews—I mean, they try to offend everyone!—but I'll be surprised if they don't catch some flak.

When exactly did Kenny come back? Was this the first episode, or did he come back some time last season?

Kenny came back in the "Red Sleigh Down" episode of last season. Apparently, Kenny was just off the screen slightly, although I do remember previous episodes where there was an actual park or square named after him in South Park.

I think they're way beyond caring who they offend. I thought it was the funniest episode they've done in quite awhile. The slam on the stupidity of "Independence Day" was great, although overdone.

It also reminded me of the twisted logic they used to use on the old superfriends cartoon to figure out what the legion of doom was up to.

I didn't like it, but overall I'm still very pleased with the cartoon. I think it's still pretty fresh. In fact, I think I like it more than I ever did. The John Edwards episode was my favorite of all time.

Chef said last episode: "That doesn't make any ***Damn sense!" I thought that was very, very funny

Cartoon Goldblum was NOT as annoying the Real Goldblum!
He didn't sound anything like the real won...

WELL... Uhh... W-e ARRRRRE... GOing to take the space craft to the mother ship... AaaaaanD, The new IMAC 28", It's... something different!

THAT'S ANNOYING
