No, I think it’s stupid, for the same reason that you don’t hammer Congress, you know, the same Congress that overwhelmingly supported the war, and the same one that is regularly not in session.
It’s not like he’s incommunicado or anything. He’s playing golf or doing whatever. I play golf too, and some of my own squadronmates are still over there. Should I put a hold on my life and wait anxiously for news about events that I have no direct control over? No. And neither should the President.

Why is it that society wants everybody to have vacation time from their jobs… except for the U.S. President?
I’m not talking about any specific president here. Regardless of who is in office, it always seems that some loser comes along to criticize the fact that the Pres. is taking a vacation, too.
If day-to-day current events are always so crucial as to demand the president’s undivided attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, then perhaps we simply need to adjust the job description to include no vacation time, no sick days, and no weekends. Until then, let the man have his vacation. (You do realize that Democrat presidents take vacation time, too…?)
