The Passion - Viewer Dies of Heart Attack after the Cruxifixion

A film-goer at Wichita, Kansas, collapsed during the Cruxifixion scene in the Passion and died shortly afterwards, apparently of a heart attack. :frowning:

That does it. I’m definitely not seeing that movie!

Woman Dies of Heart Attack

Not to be callous but so what?

What I would like to know is how many people die in movie theatres every year.

Hmmm. Let’s check back on her in a couple of days. Maybe she will “rise again.”

The news scroll this afternoon said they’re already talking about a possible lawsuit on her family’s behalf.

Hmm, interesting. Was she the first born?

My guess is not many. Severely ill people will not be in movie theatres, and most victims of heart attack or stroke would survive long enough to be taken to a hospital.

I wonder if the ratings people could be held responsible for giving such a terribly violent movie only an “R” rating.

If she had died during a showing of, say, Pee Wee’s Big Top, do you really think it would have gotten any attention at all?

My day was 50 when he had a sudden heart attack and died at work. He was in otherwise good health, much as the woman in KC was, according to other accounts of her death.

Heart attacks happen to all kinds of people, in all degrees of healthiness, at all times of the day, in all sorts of places. If she had her heart attack in the car on the way to work, or in the parking lot of the quickie mart where she gets her morning coffee, or while she was sleeping, I really don’t think that it would have gotten any attention at all, nationally.

Losing someone suddenly (even not so suddenly) at such a young age is extremely difficult. To blame it on a movie is grasping at straws.

I heard on the radio this morning that the lady is an employee of Clear Channel.
I’ve always heard how Clear Channel is the work of satan, I guess now we have proof.

It’s my educated guess that it is very probable that seeing the movie triggered the fatal attack.

However, it’s also my educated guess that she was most likely a heart attack waiting to happen, and the event would likely have happened soon anyway.

That’s life for you.

I guess I’m done with this post.

You know, I haven’t seen it yet. You could have put in a spoiler warning.

Hey, the sister of chorographer Jerome Robbins died of a heart attack at the opening of “Fiddler on the Roof”: http://www.broadway.com/template_1.asp?CI=34419&CT=38

But you don’t see me starting a thread about it.

Did anyone die during Schindler’s List or Saving Private Ryan?

And it’s not like there’s been absolutely no publicity about the move, and how graphic it is.

Yes, it’s sad, but I hope the lawsuit gets thrown out.

Okay, I started one. Cause it is so ironic…http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=4590164#post4590164

Wonder which way she went, up or down?
