So much for my bankcard's vacation...

Murphey’s Law, if there’s a worse time for something to go wrong, that’s when it will happen.

So I’m in class Tuesday. We’re having a press conference, and we have to have at least two sentence length quotes. Before leaving, I toy with the idea of changing the batteries in my tape recorder, then decide that there’s still enough left in the current set for at least one more hour. Guy gets ready to speak, so I turn on my recorder and…nothing. The red light that shows it’s on is faint and blinking, and the wheels aren’t budging a millimetre. Thankfully I bought more paper than usual, since I usually rely on having the tape. I chastise myself for not changing the batteries, and do it when I get back ot my room (and also make a mental note to bum some quotes off someone else in the class).

So today I’m getting ready for another interview. I don’t have much time to get ready, but check to make sure the recorder is gonna work this time (for once I actually think ahead). Hit play. The red light is bright, as it well should be…but the wheels still aren’t turning.

So I’m running around my room, looking for paper and something to write on, knowing I don’t have time to borrow a recorder from someone else. The two other people on my floor who have one are both out, and I’m running late as it is. (The person I was talking to was later than me, but he was in a meeting so it’s understandable). I have another interview after supper, and I have too much to do to be able to get to a store and find a replacement. This is the most important time of the year, I have less than a month of school left, I’m stressed out to the max, and then this.

I don’t know if I can take anymore.
