I molested Steven Tyler! (Long and Mundane)

Woo Hoo!
I haven’t been to many concerts in my life. As a matter of fact, I only recently started going because of my husband and his father. They are long-time concertgoers and have seen most of the greats. Anytime someone big comes through Tallahassee, FIL tries to get last minute tickets.
Then on April 1st, my husband calls me at work to ask if I wanted to go to the Aerosmith concert that night.
“Yeah, right. April Fools!” says I. I had been suffering the Attack of the Anti-Wisdom Teeth and figured he was just fooling with me. Well, it turns out that his dad had already order the tickets to be picked up at the “will-call” window. I just had to be home by 6:45 for us to go. So I rush out of work at 6:30 and make it home with 5 minutes to spare! Change clothes, redo hair, grab a snack in lieu of dinner, and wait.
And wait.
And……wait.
Turns out my Father-In-Law had a call at the last minute to deliver a package for his company and didn’t show up until about 7:30, the time the opening act, Cheap Trick, was to start. We get to the Civic Center, parked in a garage (huge mistake when it came time to leave) and ran our happy heinies to the ticket window, and then…we’re in.
When we walk in Cheap Trick was on stage and the first thing that draws my attention is the 5-neck guitar! Wholly Crap! You’d have to be a mutant to play that thing! We find our seats, which are directly to the left side of the stage, first row. There were platforms set up on either side of the main stage and a walk-way type ramp going down the center of the auditorium. We knew most of the action was going to be on the ramp some distance from us, but at least no one was blocking our view.
After an intermission, Aerosmith came on. They started out at the end of the center ramp in the middle of the crowd, played a song or two and moved onto the main stage. It was so much fun! Man, Steven Tyler can move! Swinging the mike stand, kicking the cymbals, gyrating… : pauses to wipe drool : …and even at one point swinging on a trapeze-type setup over the audience! You know, if Steven Tyler fell on me I don’t think I’d be able to sue….hell, I think I’d feel I owed HIM money. :stuck_out_tongue:
Well, the band is playing, the crowd is singing, dancing, and really into it, then the next thing I know, Steven Tyler comes racing up the ramp to the left side platform and is singing right in our faces!!
   <–hubby, me, and FIL
That’s when we got bum-rushed by a pack of mini-blondettes and their standard issue bo-hunks. The one lone Stage Security guy was swamped and was trying to stop the tide. One gentle nudge of my generous hip sent about 3-4 of them flying back from whence they came.
So Steven Tyler is still right there in front of us and hands in the crowd on all sides are stretching and reaching, trying to touch the Tyler……so I just had to. I may never wash these hands again! (J/k) I stroked him right on the tattoo! Woo-Freakin’-Hoo!!!
I’m not a big celebrity nut, but with the crowd and the excitement and getting to do what everyone around you is straining to so desperately to do, it was unreal! My husband said that he has been to tons of concerts, but has never actually got that close to a performer.
Now I know that man probably didn’t even see me there groping on him, and even if he did I’m just another faceless groper in the crowd, but I’ve been smiling ever since!
Just had to share! Things are going so wonderful all of the sudden!
Happy Day-Day! as my niece would say!

Being a straight guy, I wouldn’t try to grope him, but I’m glad you had fun! :stuck_out_tongue: Right on the “tatoo,” huh? Sounds kinky…

Aren’t they great, tho? I’ve seen Aerosmith three times and they just destroy the place, every time. Happy Day-Day!

I danced on stage with Rob Zombie once at Ozzfest.

Me and about fifty other girls…

Note: I’ve never done the “big, gaping space between sentences” thing. Weird.

Thanks! That’s what my husband said too.
I don’t care! HARMLESS GOTS STEVEN TYLER COOTIES!!!

Concert going is still a new experience for me, but I’m getting a collections of T-shirts. My Dylan one was stolen out of the dryer with a bunch of my other shirts, but I’m going to look today to see if I can find a replacement on-line. If anyone has a sight for done-and-over-with concert T’s, I’d appreciate it!

Honking on BoBo!

OOOOOOOOOOO!!! I want Steven Tyler cooties!!! How cool. I’m SO jealous! I’ve been lusting after that man for years.

What’s your e-mail?

Just when we had a handle on email virii(?)

Email cooties!

Awesome. I’ve gotten about 15 feet from him in Chula Vista (San Diego) and Mountain View (San Jose). On the JPP tour, they set up a B stage for the schmucks stuck out on the lawn. I knew ahead of time, so when they said they were taking a break, I lunged down the hill and got up close. I heard Dream On live a few steps away from the source.

Whooo! Congratulations! I already have my tickets to see Aerosmith and Cheap Trick in June, and I’m excited. Hopefully I get to join the harmless club, too.

I wanna go again!!!
I swear if I won the lotto or something I’d just go concert hopping!
I had wanted to do a sketch of Tyler before, but got side tracked and drew someone else.
I would’ve at least thrown it on stage to him, if I couldn’t hand deliver it.
I think I’m going to start a section on my site of “People I’ve seen in concert” or some such. I already have Brian Setzer. Now I need to add Dylan, & Elton John.

This is exactly like my Dylan tee that was stolen out the wash. Unfortunately a size medium won’t even fit my left boob. :frowning:
I’m still hunting, though.
