Is Falco Really Taco? (or vice versa?)

We are trying to confirm/disprove a long-standing rumour which you may have heard of.

'80s New Wave artist(s) Falco and Taco: Are they the same guy or what?

We have bios for both, discographies, etc. We heard that Falco perished in an auto accident in 1991. We've seen the photos and such...but some of us remain unconvinced that they were two different people.

The rumour is that "he" bounced between personas during "their" careers, which occurred during the same time period. Falco was at it a little longer than Taco, and Taco released "his" sole album (not counting packages) about the time Falco's greatest hits albums started coming out.

Plus, they had nearly identical hair styles and they don't look different enough that they couldn't be the same guy.

Falco: "Austrian guy" on the German scene...
Taco: "Dutch guy" recording in Germany.

So...anyone know the truth? And if so...what convinced you, one way or the other?

Thanks in advance!

Falco

Taco

If you think these guys look enough alike to be the same guy, you may need your eys checked.

Hell, Taco looks more like Booger from the Nerd movies than he looks like Falco.

Worst. Conspiracy theory. Ever.

If you've seen bio's of the two that say they aren't the same, why don't you believe them? I was gonna link to the amg site, but I don't know what you would consider to be definitive proof...

They can't be the same. Falco was cool in a bad sort of way, Taco was just bad.

Taco sang with a very clear diction. Falco sang like an effeminate Arnold Schwarzenegger.

It can't be true, because I saw an episode of "The Simpsons" where Willie Nelson explicitly thanked Falco for his tribute to Taco (or was it the other way around?).

Dunno about Falco and Taco, but back in the days of turntables with different speeds, I heard proof that Debbie Gibson is really Billy Ocean speeded up.
