Pats on the back to both, but since we (my opinion) like 'em so much, do you think that will taint their efficacy as mods?
Will they remain aloof of petty squabbles or wade in with both guns blazing?
Either way, they've both earned my respect and trust and I am willing to back their decisions to the hilt?

Wadda you think?

Well, everyone thought highly of Gaudere well before she ascended to the exalted level of mod. (I don't think that's changed!) It doesn't seem to have hindered her in her duties. I don't think it should pose a problem for slythe or UncleBeer either (so long as UncleBeer remembers who's running the Universe - see sig ).

David B wades in with both guns blazing. He's still a good mod. My attitude is, I can't see why one would want to moderate a forum where one didn't actively participate, given the volunteer nature of the position. I certainly hope that our new mods don't participate any less in the discussions as a consequence of their elevation; they're two of my favorite posters.

I dunno - are you willing to back them to the hilt?

I will try to be fair with everyone, even those who are misguided and wrong most of the time.

Of course, a thread dedicated to sucking up to the new moderators couldn't hurt!

I started a 'sucking up' thread over in ATMB - anybody want to add to it, or does each new moderator require an individual 'sucking up' thread in their forum?

The SDMB has the best damn mods on the internet!

(Hoover vacuums have nothing on me!)

I have some doubts as to Slythe> He seems rabidly anti-religous, and continues to make the same arguements even after they have been completely refuted. I am talking mostly about the "Was Jesus really this bad or taken out of context"(or something like that, which same named moderator could earn some points by posting alink)) thread. But perhaps we just caught him on a bad day or something. He does have a sharp wit, at times. I will keep an open mind.

Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt for now. If it looks as if I'm getting out of hand, just let me know, and I'll slap myself silly.
