The latest Bush commercial..

The one that mentions his votes…

Why is there a phone ringing in it?

If you mean “Priorities” (the one about which votes Kerry chose to abstain from,) it’s not a telephone ringing, although it sounds very much like it.

It’s a neo-retro teletype sound effect for the summaries that are “printing out” at the top of the screen, complete with moving cursor, at approximately 150 baud, (just like in the good old days of the Reagan years.) :stuck_out_tongue:

Never mind if you mean a totally different ad, of course.

That’s the commercial.

Thanks for the information.

FYI, it’s on the front page of http://www.georgewbush.com/

Note that there’s two ads with similar names, “Family Priorities” and “Priorities”.

Now that GWB’s campaign ad has been linked to in General Questions, I feel I should point out some facts that were conveniently ignored in the ad.

Republicans control the US Senate, and they prefer to schedule votes when Senator Kerry can’t possibly get back to Washington in time to vote.

The “Laci Peterson” law was a blatant power grab by the anti-abortion folks. It granted legal personhood to fetuses, contrary to 200 years of US case law. In the guise of protecting pregnant women from violence, it was a first step toward outlawing abortion.

AskNott Don’t do things like that in GQ again.

Just because Revtim linked to the site, I didn’t think that was a sneaky politcal thing to do, rather just trying to be helpful to anyone who wanted to view the ad. That, of course, is just my opinion. But they pay  me to use my best judgement here.

Your post was unquestionably political and gratuitous in my mind.

Keep it out of GQ.
