Do you remember the ending of AMERICAN SUPERSTAR (reality show)

Remember the show “American Superstar” (correct me if I’m wrong with the title) a take off on “American Idol” they only kept the absolute worse singers and the baddest singer was the winner.
I missed the last episodes and just was thinking about this now, what did the winner do when he or she found out that the whole thing was a joke and they were a crappy singer? Did they cry, were they angry…what happened?
Yes I realize this show went off a long time ago but I was just curious.

Yowch. Both of those should read “worst”. (May Gaudere strike me down if I screw up my grammar here!)

Punctuation always goes inside quotation marks.

She had a very blank look on her face. As Dad put it, “She has no idea what’s going on,” which describes her reaction perfectly.

Yeah, she was clearly confused as all Hell. The [sub]small[/sub] little gears in her head were trying to turn to figure out what just happened.

In the end, she still got the million dollars (half of it upfront, too. A better deal than Ameican Idol) and a recording contract, just like they promised. She was happy about that, and atleast gave the appearance that she didn’t care, and that she was stil happy because it was fun and she got money and a record deal.

That finale was a huge letdown. After the host told her they were looking for the worst singer in America, he softened the blow and asked her if she was willing to put in the work to become a superstar. Blah, blah, blah…

Really? Even if the quoted material isn’t a complete sentence?

Commas and periods always go inside the quotes (at least on this side of the pond); colons and semicolons always go outside; exclamation points and question marks go inside if they’re part of the quoted material (I watched “Jeopardy!” last night) or outside if they’re not (Did you also watch “Wheel of Fortune”?).
