Research for a novelist: or Lord help me get a job

My god, I need a job!!! And I was just thinking the other day the something in research is just about perfect. It's the way my mind works. When I was working in retail the only thing I could really stand about it was looking up book requests. I love the challange. And yes I've found books based on "It was this big and it was red )"

So having thought that I was thrilled today to see an ad for a research assistent for a writer. Perfect. Problem is there isn't much information in the ad other than "must have internet access" (well lord knows I've got that).

I don't know if anyone here has any suggestion. I just know I'm desperate enough to ask. Any writers here who have had research assistents? What were you looking for?
