Ability to select fora in "New Posts"

I've just recently discovered the "New Posts" feature (Yea, I know...I've been around long enough I should have noticed it before). This is a handy way to keep up on threads that I'm interested in without having to jump back and forth between the different groups.

But it would be nice if there were a way (or if there is a way and I knew about it) to select in User CP which of the groups should be included when looking at New Posts. There are some groups that I rarely venture into, and it would be nice to be able to view just the new posts for the 3 or 4 groups that I frequent.

Is this possible?

And on a related note, why do the individual form pages display approx. 50 threads on a single page, but the New Posts only shows 25?

Bump. Doesn't anyone have any thoughts on this?

Just a WAG, but I don't think it's possible for a user to set it up so that only certain forums show up with the 'New Posts' function.

Maybe a Mod will come by and explain.
