But beware ye of teh evil strangers on ye olde internete! Especially since things are going to be addressed to your child.
Maybe you should think about a postal version of the SD ‘two clicks’ rule? Have us send cards to the address of a friend/relative rather than straight to your child’s home?
zelie zelerton, I’m not saying that your caution is groundless, but we’ve had some “send stuff to Doper kids” threads before, and nothing bad resulted. A long-time poster like Batsinma Belfry will recognize most of the Dopers who sign up.
There are a few folks who want to send cards, but so far only my kid will be recieving.
If anyone is uncomfortable with having a bunch of people email them for their address, you can email me with your child’s name and address, and I’ll hook you up with the senders.
My daughter and I got some cards today. She also wants to send Florida postcards so we may throw some of those in as well. I hope we get a few more participants!
We were out of town, so we got it today. Thank you! My daughter was so excited.
And Bookkeeper, I know she would love more. I’m not sure why the email didn’t go through. I was going to email you, but I see that your address isn’t listed in your profile. If you wouldn’t mind trying again…?
We are sending some out tomorrow, so everyone watch your mailboxes!
I’ve got more cards, does anyone else have kids who would like to receive some? I went and bought an extra book of Christmas stamps the same day my husband did :smack: so I may as well put them to good use - my family’s cards are finished.
So far I’ve sent cards to two kids - Bastinma Belfry’s, and Susie Derkinseses. Anyone else?
Got your email, got the cards all made out, just looking for my book of stamps. You know, that book that I placed somewhere that I definitely wouldn’t forget? :smack:
Will be mailing them tomorrow or the next day. I might steal some of my husband’s stamps that he keeps neatly in his desk. (Yeah, I looked there… it would have made too much sense for my stamps to also be there, so naturally, they weren’t there.)
[sub]it’s not like he’ll throw a fit if I use “his” stamps, just the day we both brought an extra book home, he said, “Well, great, I’ll just use mine for the bills, you use yours for all the Christmas mailing.” It’s worked out great so far, but he’s used up over half of his book already. He can just take whatever I take of his from my book whenever we find them, but I’m likely to get that, “That’s our Stasia!” look. [/sub] :smack:
Well, in our house, I’m the official Keeper of the Stamps™. And Keeper of the Envelopes, Keeper of the Pens, etc. Works out pretty well since I’m the one who writes the checks for the bills and all. But if I didn’t have one dedicated place for all that stuff, I’d spend half my time looking for it!
