I met a new patient today. His first name is Og.
I just wanted to share that.
I’ll be seeing him again soon, and I hope to get more information at that time as to how he got his first name.
I’ll be monitoring him for aggressive behavior, too.

It’s probably all that damning people keep asking him to do.
Please, please, please let his last name be Oggleby.
Then you can say, in your best W. C. Fields imitation:
“Og Oggelby, eh? Sounds like a bubble in the bathtub.”
Did Og smash anything? That’s an unusual name.
He’s my patient because of repeated DUIs.
Og smashed!!
Not to be a wet blanket, as I’d like to know about a guy name Og as much as anyone else here, but how close are we edging into HIPAA territory?
Og, don’t smash that! Og no! Og, if you don’t stop smashing, there’s a taser with your name on it…
Well, the old cynical adage was, “If Jesus came back, they’d lock Him up.”
Apparently it’s true for Og too.
He hasn’t revealed his patient’s last name and diagnosis, and we don’t know Qagdop’s name. I’d say the patient’s confidentiality is safe.
Oh c’mon! How many Ogs can possibly be incarcerated in The Hull for DUI? I’d say we got us some fox paws here.
Can’t Qadgop post anything ever about his work without someone invoking their misunderstanding of HIPAA. Jesus. (Note that I did not use any identifying information other than a possibly false first name, so you therefore cannot know to which deity I refer.)

Yes, sweetie, I know, but HIPAA deals with a patient’s privacy regarding their health information. We know Og was incarcerated for DUI. We have no idea what medical problem Qagdop saw him for.
Just to chime in, a non-minors arrest record is public knowledge.
Og be damn. Funny coincidence. The ultimate irony will be if he is a Doper.
Jim
Nor will you ever know his medical problems from me.
All info I’ve posted is public record. I’m officially physician of record to ALL new inmates in my state while they get their initial processing.
I must say the HIPAA issue is tiresome. It seems whenever I post work anecdotes this comes up. Which is why I’ve been posting fewer and fewer of them.
I’ve always understood it as a bit of tongue in cheek razzing for a mistake he’s not likely to make. Like ribbing him about using his creds for hooking us up with pain killers. Which he thinks is cripplingly funny but refuses to do nevertheless.
Keep posting, most of us know the difference and the rest will learn.

Cite? Such has not been my anecdotal experience here.
I understand the fine line here, and I continue to look forward to your posts, QtM. Being in the medical profession and living in the lush confines of Palm Springs, I have attended to a few famous people myself, but you’ll never hear it from me. Damn. I love to name drop but I can’t . Betty Ford Clinic, your secrets are safe with me. Not that I was a patient there, but I have done some visits to the rehab facility, and you basically sign your life away on a 35 page document stating that you won’t reveal anyone’s identity - famous or not - that you might see there.
Anyway, QtM’s situation is much different, and as far as I can tell, he’s never
stepped over the line. I hope to see more of you (yowza, did that sound sexual?) in the near future.
Do the other inmates worship Him?
Glory to Og in the Highest?
Qadgop, please don’t stop posting your anecdotes… sits quiet like a good little girl and listens
Is Og short for anything, or is it just Og?
Um, Well, ur, um, I think there was one over there. Oops, got to run off to lunch you know.
