Need help, songs/albums that sound REALLY good when stoned

If this thread is deemed inapporpriate, I apologize in advance. If not, I am looking for songs or preferably enitre albums of any type from any era that sound really good when stoned. “Forever Changes” by Love is one I like, as well as “Who’s That Lady” by the Isley Bros. (mainly the wah-wah guitar), “Magic Man” by Heart and “Tattva” by Kula Shaker. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Anything off this list should work:

I’m not into drugs but I would think that Dark Side of the Moon would be practically made for stoners.

Also most Nine Inch Nails stuff.

Maggotbrain by Funkadelic and pretty much any Pink Floyd.

Inna Gadda da Vida requires you be stoned to think it’s any good.

Damn, I was going to post pretty much the same thing.

Reefer Madness by Hawkwind is good. As is Hang On To Your Life by The Guess Who. And Nobody’s Fault But Mine and Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. And thousands of others, but these are good.

How about this semi-classic?

So am I outting myself by posting? heh heh.

Depending on what you like when you are lit, some are good for grooving, some for spacing out. Play loud!

Hawkwind - Psychedelic Warlord, Master of the Universe (really any Hawkwind)
Cream - Born Under a Bad Sign, Tales of Brave Ulysses, Politician
Dizzy Gillespie - Night in Tunisia
The Doors - Strange Days
Jane’s Addiction - Ocean Size
Revolting Cocks - Union Carbide (Live)
Cevin Key - The Dragon Experience (album)
Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows
The Cult - Phoenix
Primus - My Name is Mud
The Legendary Pink Dots - Disturbance
Jesus and Mary Chain - Taste the Floor (actually if you like feedback all of Psychocandy)
The Creatures - Hai! (album, very tripped out if you dig Taiko drumming)
Kruder and Dorfmeister - Transfatty Acid, Bass and Several Cars
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head (album)
Cypress Hill - Hits From the Bong
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality (album)
Juno Reactor - God Is God

It’s somewhat run into the ground by overplay on classic rock stations but it’s hard to beat Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” in it’s entirety, preferably through headphones.
Or so they tell me.

Pink Floyd’s Dark Side … and Animals both are best consumed when … altered of consciousness.

Anything by Tangerine Dream (especially on acid or mushroom).

I assume Dave Matthews and Phish sound much better while stoned.

Dinosaur child of the 70’s checking in here…

RULE NUMBER ONE: HEADPHONES.

One CD that’s really hard to find is Elements by Roger Glover. Glover was the bass player from Deep Purple, but this album is nothing like their stuff. His one other album isn’t in the same league.

All of the Pink Floyd between Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall is fair game. My favorite, Wish You Were Here, was the triggering mechanism for, umm, my friend’s first visualization of musical notes. Once the 80’s started, of course, we had laser shows at planetariums for such things…

Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson, Lake & Palmer is very cleanly mixed and has a lot of headphone-friendly stuff on it too.

Of course I am not qualified to make this recommendation  but, Led Zeppelin II will be the ultimate source that you are seeking. No further discussion is necessary.

The Swans '87

12 Dreams of Dr Sardonicus by Spirit. It’s best on headphones as there’s a lot of wild channel channel swapping.

Blows against the Empire by Jefferson Starship.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

For a completely different experience, try An English Ladymass by the Anonymous Four.

Some people say the same thing about the Grateful Dead, but I don’t agree with them. Still, they made some great lighting-up material. Go for the early, more experimental and psychedelic stuff. I haven’t used any hallucinogen in decades, but I feel a little high just listening to that stuff. Try Live Dead, Anthem Of The Sun, or From the Vault II, which is another live version of the material on the other two that I mentioned.

(italics mine)
I went to Boston a few years ago, and went to a planetarium Pink Floyd laser show. The announcer gave the following ground rule: “No smoking…OF ANYTHING…(I smelled you people as you came in)…in the auditorium during the show.”

never mind.
