Above is a list of street names with any identifying addresses removed. You’ll find references to these streets in comic books, novels, short stories, television shows or movies. What would you find at these addresses? Who lived there? Can you identify the source?

Just to make things interesting I’ve thrown in some ringers: some of these are song titles, or names of streets within lyrics of songs. Can you identify which those are, and whose songs they are?

Example:
Maple Street (Leave It To Beaver).

Bonus question: what is another television show that featured a location at Maple Street?

Sherlock Holmes

A Nightmare on…

Dr. Seuss & Billy Joel, IIRC

The Simpsons

Revello Dr. - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Lonely St. - Heartbreak Hotel

Bleeker St. - Simon & Garfunkel, Wednesday Morning 3am

Mockingbird Lane is the Munsters.

Is West 35th Street Nero Wolfe?

Mockingbird Lane – 1313 Mockingbird Lane, home of the Munsters.
Bourbon Street – “Bourbon Street Beat” of course.

Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters
(later Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning)
1407 Greymalkin Lane
Salem Center, NY

Here’s one: Beekman Place

52nd Street - Billy Joel

#4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey - The home of Vernon and Petunia Dursley, their son Dudley, and their nephew Harry Potter.

Location of Tyler and “Jack’s” house in Fight Club.

A few ridiculously easy ones:

NDP 1 - Penny Lane

NDP 2 - Sunset Blvd.

NDP 3 - Mulholland Drive

The above are correct.

Still remaining:

The only Cemetery Ridge I know is a geographical feature near Gettysburg, PA, which played a part in the Civil War battle. Pickett’s Charge occurred at Cemetery Ridge. Perhaps it featured in the movie Gettysburg?

Beacon Street - Isn’t that the name of one of No Doubt’s albums?

Blue Avenue - That’s an Elton John song. I think.

Cemetery Ridge - Uh, what jayjay said.

Grove Street - No clue.

Hegal Place - I’m fairly certain this one is from the X-Files. Maybe the name of the street Mulders apartment building is on.

I’ll give you a hint: the full address is 000 N Cemetery Ridge.

It is, but the address I’m thinking of is 112½ Beacon Street, from a television show.

“Blue Avenue” is indeed an Elton John song from Sleeping With the Past, and Hegal Place is Fox Mulder’s address from “The X Files.” Still outstanding:

Here’s a few more to keep you busy:

Stigwood Avenue
Crestview Drive, Beverly Hills
Hillcrest Drive, Beverly Hills
Conch Street
Electric Avenue
Jeopardy Lane
Oxenthorpe Road
Clinton Street
North Clinton Drive
Spooner Street
Stag Trail Road
Rainey Street
Mammon Lane
Chauncey Street
Thunder Road
Abbey Road
Seven Bridges Road
Candlewood Lane
59th Street
Ezekiel Drive
West 68th Street, NY
Mercy Street
Webfoot Walk
Black Bear Road

Hmm, Beekman Place. Nope, I got nothin’.

NPD 1: “Penny Lane,” a song by the Beatles. Also a street in London, I think.

NDP 2: Sunset Boulevard, as the name of a movie; also appears as a lyric in Billy Joel’s “Say Goodbye to Hollywood.” I keep thinking it appears in the lyrics to Don Henley’s “Down at the Sunset Grill,” but I could be wrong.

NDP 3: Mulholland Drive, movie of the same name with Nicholas Cage?

Electric Avenue - song by Eddy Grant
Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen
Abbey Road - Beatles
Seven Bridges Road - Eagles
59th St. Bridge Song - Simon and Gar Farkle
Black Bear Road - C. W. McCall

Telegraph Road - Dire Straits
Tobacco Road - (various, incl Lovin’ Spoonful, Grateful Dead…)
Route 66 - Cole, Stones

Penny Lane is in Liverpool.

Mulholland Drive was mentioned in a song called Rebecca, recorded by Flo and Eddy. I can’t remember who wrote it. Maybe Albert Hammond?

The street where all the main characters from Family Guy live.

Te1 - Hauser Street

Okay…apparently my original (and unposted) guess about Cemetery Ridge was correct, but since I had to Google it to be sure, I’ll leave it for someone else.

Baker Street is also Dr. Gregory House.
