Anyone else thrive on work-related stress?

Today I've had a day that would rank amongst the top ten percent of busiest days I've had at my current job. And I am happy as Larry.

I am on the verge of a promotion and a possible (nay probable) pay rise.

Half a year ago, given the stuff then that I have to deal with now I... well... (Thinking about it carefully...) People would have saught out other people to deal with it. (and it would have been dealt with to the relative best of their undiminished ability) Back then my ability to deal with anything at all was severely diminished.

But now I am myself again. And my ability to deal with whatever my professional life throws at me is somewhere near it's maximum. I am getting things done. I am making the lives of my colleagues easier (a speciality of the on-form me), I am learning new and usefull skills.

I love my work-related stress.

Well, I love school-related stress.

I love feeling busy, and feeling like I'm doing something I'm really good at. The tougher it is, and the more sleep I lose over it, the more rewarding a good project feels like to me.

The downside is that, in some cases, this causes me to push others too hard and I become borderline uptight.

Work has never really been that hard for me, because I've never had a job that really challenged and exercised my most important skills.
