There is orange everywhere.

(Cross posted from my blog)

Imagine my little white fluffball of a dog. Now, imagine that she manages to get a hold of my brother's paintball stash. And that for some reason, despite the nice big bowl of dog food and abundance of humans willing to slip her human food, she decides that they look tasty. Futhermore, she decides to test out her theory in a carpeted room.

I now have a little orange fluffball of a dog. And some rather interesting orange designs on the carpet. My mother is not amused.

Maybe you should get a cat instead.... There seems to be some overwhelming reason for cat people here....

Tell your Mom to stop stifling your pooch's creative muse.

There may even be the potential for a coffee table book:

"Why dogs eat paintballs"

Somehow I imagined this this was directed against Home Depot.

Note to self: Do not take up paintballing. ( http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/...d.php?t=390146 )

Is the paint at least non-toxic when eaten?

Many years ago, we had a beagle that decided she was bored or just had an extra moment of clumsy and she knocked a can of paint off of a table. The paint spilled out, and we came home that evening to find harvest gold paw prints all throughout the downstairs.

I just heard a story from my coworker that her husband went home yesterday and found that a ball of cooking string had been pried out of the cabinet where it was hidden, and spread all over the house. Under the couch, behind the couch, under the TV, around the TV, down the hall, into the bedrooms....he even videotape where the string went and then videotaped the culprit, Miss Daisy, their 3 pound tiny cat.

This is a lot more serious than you've realized yet.

Do you know that your city's/township's construction and waterline project crews are going to be all confused everytime they drive by a fire hydrant in your neighborhood for the next few weeks...?

Please, please post orange dog pics.

Good luck with that carpet, though. Do you think it's got any chance of washing out, or will you need to replace the whole thing? I suppose you could just dye it all orange and then change the furniture to match...

Update from home: apparently, after much scrubbing and a very indignant dog, she's mostly white again, although her mouth fur is somewhat yellow.

My mother is still, I believe, still scrubbing the carpet.

The paint is luckily non-toxic. However, the dog has to go to the kennel for a couple of nights- I really hope my mother tells them to expect orange poop, so they don't freak out.
