There’s a topiary garden near Baltimore, The Ladew Gardens, that I’ve been dying to visit. Apparently there’s one or two other things to see in addition to their famous fox-hunting-scene-rendered-in-boxwood! The location sees eminently doable for the folks between Philly and DC, and not unreasonable for others – their estimates:
Might anyone else be interested in doing this some Saturday or Sunday? I’m thinking maybe early or mid April (though I’ll be in Holland – !!! – from April 20th to 30th), or early May.
May 13th is Mother’s Day, and I’m busy on the 12th. I could do the last weekend of April or the first weekend of May, or the third weekend of May. After that, I’m spoken for because of family obligations.
Dang - that’s really close to where my mom lives - she’s near the intersection of 152 and 165.
May 12 and Memorial Day weekend won’t do it for me. Other than than, no plans yet, although somewhere in there, we’ll be spending a weekend painting the boat bottom. So whatever is decided, if I’m free, I’m there.
April 14-15:
April 21-22: twickster
April 28-29: twickster
May 5-6:
May 12-13: Universal loathing for the idea
May 19-20:
May 26-27: Memorial Day
Anyone who wants to go: do you prefer May 5-6 or May 19-20? And, other than Bibliocat, who has a preference between Saturday and Sunday?
Saturday is better for me. Hey - if we want to do a group meal before or after, there’s a really good Italian place on 152 at 165. We took Mom there for her birthday on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded at all at lunchtime. Just a thought…
God, I don’t know – noon? one? Then go for something to eat after? They open at 10:30, but that seems a trifle ambitious for those of us with 1.5 hours or more travel time.
