Meanwhile, Anita Vacation wants me to organize a MAD Outdoors Club outing while the weather’s still decent. I’d like to, too, but it’s a challenge to try to figure out when, between the floating Dopefest dates, and off-board activities that have already claimed 9/27, 10/13, and 11/1.
So, which of these is really happening, and when? Help me out here, folks!

9/21 is not only the Wimmin’s lunch, but a separate trip to the Visionary Art Museum open to all – (cool stuff).
FairyChatMom has discovered we get a break on admission if we can line up 10 people. Surely there are enough of us (esp. if we include a non-Doper friend or two) to get together 10 people to check out cool art?
I just sent a note off to the museum asking about their group rate - whether we need to make advanced arrangements or if we can just show up and get that rate.
Regular admission is $9, but for 10 or more, it’s $5 - pretty good deal, I’d say. But getting the group rate means everyone needs to be on time - say, 1 PM in front of the museum? And lunching wimmins need to get to the marina by 11-ish if we’re going to do the boat ride.
And doggone Isabel better not try to come ashore in this area because I’m suppose to be flying outta here on the 18th. Stoopid hurricane.
You know how it is this year, Nate: if you’re planning a get-together, I’ve probably got a conflict, durnitall.
My wife and I are hosting a party for her co-workers; the date will be either the 11th or the 13th.
But at least I’ll be able to come to Dope-a-Ween after all. Whew!
Not intentionally. But all of a sudden we had a bunch of MADfests of indeterminate status and dates, and I wanted to know whether they were all really happening (I’m still not sure whether the Ren Faire get-together is a go), and when I could sneak a MAD hike in.
But as a result, this thread should be a handy guide to what’s going on with us MADs between now and the end of October. I’ve just bookmarked this thread, rather than bookmarking all the threads that are linked to here.
