Bush Promises To Restore GOP

Bush Promises To Restore Party Potency In Two Years

Ookay…

The phrase, “whistling past the graveyard,” comes to mind.

This is a bold pledge coming from a man who has done the Republican Party more deep and lasting damage than any pol since Nixon.

The OP had two pairs of words that shouldn’t be in the same sentence. Bush…potency and jumbo shrimp.

I think his electoral predictions will be just as accurate as his post-war Iraq predictions.

How’s the Gulf Coast coming along? Bush promised repeatedly to fix that too.

It seems rather odd for a guy who just scraped past 50% of votes in both of his elections to be talking about having a “strong record.”

I think he’ll fix that one up shortly after he restores the GOP’s credibility.

(After all, he has to get his priorities right).

Clearly, the Democrats are in their last throes.

The convenient thing is that they already had a handy banner from a few years back, and could paint the new message on the reverse side.

I have this mental image of someone going through a particularly gruesome accident, then waking up in the ER to find that Dr Kevorkian would be in charge of his recovery.

(Which is not entirely fair to Dr Kevorkian, but you know how mental images are. They don’t always follow orders.)

**YES! ** Go for it, George! Work your magic! Don’t let anyone change your mind!

It’s like the iceberg offering to fix the Titanic.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat I sincerely hope that George W. Bush plays a strong leadership role in the Republican Party for years to come.

Let’s hope he goes on the campaign trail in 2008–helping all the Republican candidates.

From backup tapes made before the crash?

But that’s a Plan B, and we don’t need no steenkin’ Plan B…

He lowered taxes multiple times. If that’s not a free pass to unlimited political power, what is?

Given that I despise the Republicans, and given Bush’s track record, I have to say “GO, BUSH, GO !”

I have a mental image of a news story on CNN a few years in the future; “In 2007 when then President Bush promised to restore the GOP majority, no one could have guessed the present state of the Republican Party. The majority of the membership dead, outlawed internationally, and Bush being burned in effigy as we speak on the White House lawn by President-for-Life Hillary Clinton.”

MPSIMS or IMHO? There is no debate in the OP and no one responding has attempted to enter one. (And it is certainly not a rant for the Pit.)

MPSIMS – the posts are way too hilarious for anywhere else.
