Name that fictional ship!

As long as I’m stuck at work with name that book going on, I’ll throw in this as well: name that ship!

Below is a list of ships— both seafaring and spacefaring — from movies, books, comics, television, and … well, from all over the place. Can you name what piece of fiction the ship is associated with? For a bonus, is it a seagoing vessel or a starship?

Hey, they can’t all be hard!

USS Grissom – CSI: Neptune

USS Palomino–starship The Black Hole

Cavorite Sphere–starship, Victorian era, name of novel escapes me.

SS Botany Bay–starship, ST:OS, exile ship of Khan

Kobayashi Maru–Star Trek : Wrath Of Khan–simulated vessel only.

Pequod - Moby Dick. Seaship. Also the name of the Outsiders transport in the DC universe.
Kobayashi Maru - Star Trek. Starship. I don’t think it exists outside the KM test.

Bistromath - One of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books

Alexei Leonov - 2010

C-57D - Forbidden Planet

Liberator - Blake’s 7

Heart of Gold - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

I would like to add to the list–

[ol]
[li] Hispaniola[/li][li]Yamato[/li][li]SDF Macross[/li][li]Seaview[/li][li]Rolling Stone[/li][li]Thunder Child[/li][/ol]

Note–one of these is a trick question.
Can you spot it, & reveal the trick?

Yamato - This is the trick. It’s both a real warship from the Japanese navy, circa WWII, and a fictional starship built around the remains of the real ship in Space Battleship Yamato. And, as a further twist, I believe there is a starship, probably Galaxy Class, in the Star Trek universe by the same name.
SDF Macross - From Macross/Robotech. Starship. Although it also has two standard aircraft carriers attached.

Missed some other obvious ones

IAV Dortmunder - Firefly

Discovery 1 - 2001

Moya - Farscape

Vingilot - Lord of the Rings. Earendil’s ship in which he sailed to Valinor to beg the Valar for help against Morgoth.

Very good!

Can anybody name the others?

And add to the list:

Gay Deceiver
White Star
Helva

I think there is a ship called Indomitable in the Aubrey-Maturin books. Is that what you were going for?

Still remaining:

Fin of God

USNC Iroquois
Gone Fission
Cavorite Sphere
Michael
Guinevere One
Fhlosten Paradise
Tarantula
HMS Atropos
USS Starfish
Splendor Hyaline
USS Reluctant
The Slippery Pig
INSS MacArthur
R-XM
Icarus
Columbiad
Boise
USS Montana
USS Bozeman
The Moldy Crow
Aluminum Mallard
The Betty
USS Orlando
Blue Midget
The Kite
Busted Flush
SS Lady Anne
USS Sulaco
Valley Forge
USS Grissom

USS Kiwi
CosmoStrator
HMS Indomitable
Bosda’s picks:
Hispaniola
SDF Macross
Seaview
Rolling Stone
Thunder Child
jayjay’s picks
Gay Deceiver
White Star
Helva

Yes, the USS Grissom is indeed a spaceship; no, it isn’t from CSI: Neptune. And the Cavorite Sphere is indeed a Victorian-era spacecraft, but whose?

And does the Aubrey-Maturin “Indomitable” predate 1891?

Helva - The Ship Who Sang

I got that one, in the same post I got the Yamato.

And, I’ll add a couple…

Celsius (there’s a bit of a rule bend in this one, but if you know it, that shouldn’t be a problem).
Eureka Maru (or simply the Maru)

Ack, I can’t believe I missed this one. Starship, Babylon 5.

Eureka Maru (or simply the Maru) - Beka’s ship on Andromeda
