Valentines in August? Charleston SC Postcards

So…over here in the MMP, I mentioned that I’d received an unsigned postcard from Charleston, SC and was pondering who it could be from. I remembered that someone I knew had mentioned they were going to SC soon, but couldn’t think who.

A little while later, Jahdra mentioned that she’d received one as well. So I asked other MMPers who were in the Valentine exchange this year if they’d received one. tarragon918 just piped up and confirmed that she received one too.

Thought I’d say thanks to our mystery Valentine. It’s fun to get cards any time of year!

I got mine… I think… Whatever was stuck to the front was torn off; could somebody tell me what the Valentine-part of these cards said? Thanks much.

And many thanks to the mystery-sender. Oh yes, I will be pulling out cards from the last two years in order to compare handwriting samples. You needn’t have asked. :wink:

There wasn’t a Valentine part on mine. Several of us figured out it had to be a Valentine because we compared notes in the MMP.

Yeah, there’s a spot on mine that looks like something may have been attachedd but is now gone. Hmmmmm.

I’m SO glad I saw this thread! I was convinced that one of two guys from long long ago had decided to send me an unsigned postcard for … fun? Now I feel better knowing it was a Doper.

I got one too. Don’t know what was written on the back of yours, but mine bears the following declaration:

“There’s never any snow here.”

“Never.”

With autumn in the air, and another miserable Michigan winter on it’s way, I wonder what they could be implying? :wink:

In case you folks haven’t figured it out yet … Nawth Chucka and Tripler got married in Charleston 3 weeks ago, according to NC’s thread in IMHO (HERE) , where she’s asking about what sort of dog she should adopt. :slight_smile:

sigh Yes, it was, you’ve found us out. To be fair, we’ve been talking about our Charleston nuptials on here for months now. We had those postcards as wedding favors, people could send one to themelves as a souvenir and there were a **bunch ** left over, already stamped. I still had the database of addresses from the exchange on my laptop and we just went down the line till we ran out of postcards. I didn’t write on most of them as I thought ya’ll would like a little mystery; it was fun to watch it unfold, but hard to keep the thread on the first page for other people to post they’d gotten cards.
Only about 2/3 of the Dopers we sent them to have posted, guess the others didn’t see the thread.
We’re so glad you liked them and had a bit of fun in the process!

Didn’t see your post till just now, Nawth Chucka. It occurred to me after you posted the first time that you’d just been married there, but it seemed like the postmark on my card was quite a while after the wedding. So, I chalked it up to coincidence. :smack:

In any case, it was incredibly cool of you two to send the cards!
