Sources for light axel

I am planning on constructing a cart of sorts, and I need an axel for the back wheels. The axel needs to be at least 4 feet long and lighter than one that you would get from a car.

Any ideas as to where I could find such an axel? What kind of vehicles/devices would have that type of axel? I thought of possibly a horse cart....but thats about it.

Any other ideas?

Yeah, I could see about making it myself... I was hoping I could save time by finding something to take complete off of some type of vehicle.
