Tough Trivial Feud [Game Closed]
Rules, in case you are new to this: DON'T READ THE THREAD BEFORE YOU POST!
This may crash and burn like the Hindenburg, but here goes. The questions are perhaps a little arcane [there is only one question about music that you may have listened to in high school ] don't forget that you can Google for material if needs be.Post your responses to the questions. I’ll take the first 50 players or players through midnight CST Tuesday Feb 5, 2008 whichever comes first. I will tabulate the results, declare the winner, post the scoreboard and declare the frontrunner in the Democratic nomination for President. There are 10 questions and a maximum of 1000 possible points. If we don’t get 50 answers I will pro rate the points accordingly. A quick reminder the object of the game is to give an answer that you think will match the most number of other Doper's answers. Format for your answers: You don't need to repeat the questions, but please number the answers. If you don't know an answer, guess! If you pass, you're guaranteed to get zero points -- but if you guess and someone else matches your answer, you'll get points, whether the answer is "right" or not! Tough Trivial Feud 1. Other than jihad, name a English word from the Arabic. Jihad may not have quite made it to English yet, but you know what I mean. 2. Other than Waterloo, name a set-piece battle of the Napoleonic Wars. [Note this also rules out anything related to Moscow] 3. Other than helium, name a noble gas. 4. Other than John Kennedy, name an American president that served for a very short time 5. Name a disease that humans used to die a lot from, but no longer do. 6. Type out for us a phrase from the Latin [at least 3 words] 7. Name a nonfictional high school 8. Name one of those weird Bob Dylan songs whose title is not prominently mentioned in the song 9. Name an ancient coin 10. Name an ancient historian Last edited by fluiddruid; 02-27-2008 at 08:18 PM. Reason: By request |
