I’ve been planning on taking a Vegas vacation for a couple of years, and finally the trifecta of time, money, and good excuse has come to pass.
I have booked my room at Bill’s Gambling Hall and Saloon (formerly Barbary Coast) for May 7-11 (heh, 7 come 11 baby). I didn’t do that on purpose I swear. Anyway, several of us Mafia fanatics have discussed the possibility of a get together to play in real life. Well here’s your chance and mine. I was thinking maybe the Friday or Saturday evening…details can be discussed later.
There’s plenty of time between now and then to make some plans. I’m stoked about my vacation, and the possibility of meeting some of you. Bill’s Gambling Hall is tucked away beside the Flamingo on the strip and has very reasonable rates. My 4 nights is $360, and I booked directly through their site. https://www.billslasvegas.com I tried the travel sites and the rates were higher and couldn’t get a non-stop flight.
So anyone up for a little playtime in Vegas? Anyone who wants to join is welcome.
May, eh? I’ll certainly try. With this new comp, I kinda can’t spend money on anything huge for awhile but a ticket from here to there by bus shouldn’t be too much. I only live about seven or eight hours away.
Have a good time you lot. Unfortunately rl issues (ie lack of money) mean I can’t leave the UK right now without a very good reason, and going to Vegas wouldn’t be seen as a good reason.
As much as I would LOVE getting together with you guys, my husband and I are taking a trip to the Dominican Republic in April, so we won’t be able to afford a Vegas trip in May.
I’d love to make one at some point, though. Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit.
Kassia doesn’t have any days off to burn, so if we do try to come, it will only be for the weekend. Kassia is also about 4 months into quitting smoking, cold turkey, and we have not yet plunked her down in front of a bank of video slots in a smoke-filled casino, which was one of her favorite environments in which to puff away. Lastly, we are trying to be frugal, so y’all are going to have to help me twist her arm. I’ve looked quickly on Expedia, and there were some flights + 2 hotel night packages for less than $600 for both of us.
I’ll be a good influence on Kassia! I quit cold turkey on Jan 1, so I will be in the same predicament. We can get through it! I was only hoping for a night with a group of us. Y’all aren’t getting my whole vacation! There’s plenty of time to plan and save.

Ballys sent us a free 3 day/2 night stay for that exact weekend (May 9th-11th). So now we’re coming. When we had looked at airfare a few days ago, it was only $89 each to fly out of SF, when we bought them earlier today, they were $160 each :(, but it is still going to add up to be quite the bargain.

If you don’t mind, I would love to stop by at some point to meet you all, and say howdy. There are rumors of an “official” LasVegasDopeFest again this summer, but I love these impromptu events!

I, for one, plan on getting pretty sloshed on the plane, and not waking up sober until I get back to Santa Fe. I’m not sure if I’ll remember whether I see **zuma **or not, much less whether or not he’s drunk! :eek:
Kassia doesn’t drink (I do though ), so I can whore her out as a designated driver, if we ever need to drive anywhere. though we are not renting a car, and that does assume that we will be able to pry her white knuckles off of whatever slot machine she’s sitting at.
When we get closer to actual time and I have a better idea of how many people might come, I’ll see what kind of meeting spot I can round up. Maybe **DMark ** will have some insight on that.
