Ridiculously obvious stuff you just got

The Matrix. Morpheus believes Neo is “The One.”

What just occurred to me the other day? Neo and one are anagrams.

:smack:

See above…

This is local but still funny. We have a strip club here that’s called “TD’s”. As in Touch Down’s, right? Well guess what I just figured out … when you say “TD’s” fast? Yep, that’s what they’re advertising: Titties!! Bet everyone else in town knew about that but me. :smack:

Welcome aBoard, Bibby! Good one!

Just before my recent trip to South America I looked at Ecuador on the globe and realized it was located on the equator and so…

Tucson or Albuquerque? I’ve worked at both of the TD’s in Tucson (3+ years at the East side, one weekend at the West side). Alternate interpretations: Table Dances; Topless Dancers; Tony ____ the owner’s initials, that I can’t remember right now. (“Touch Down’s” never occurred to me, by the way.)

It wasn’t until I mentioned it at work a couple of years ago that I realized the intended joke with character names in the Winnie the Pooh series. There was one character named Kanga whose son was named Roo. I didn’t realize that you put them together to form Kangaroo :smack: . What’s really embarassing is that both characters are pretty obviously kangaroos.

Yes, I’m in Tucson! I have tread where the famous Opal Cat once tread! I bow in homage!

Haha! Yeah I danced at TD’s on Speedway for several years. It was a lot different then, though, based on my visit there about 2 years ago. It kind of sucks now, from what I could tell.

I thought it was strange that Nebraska’s state nickname was The Cornhusker State. After all, who would’ve thought of naming a state after a college football team?

As it turned out, I wasn’t backwards. The nickname did indeed come from the football team:

Psst! Just took this for ya, for the hell of it: TD’s!

Boulder, CO has the Bus Stop, as it’s silly name topless bar. Many a naive freshman at CU has taken the wrong cab. Or right, maybe.

In “North by Northwest” our hero ends up on a flight to North Dakota on Northwest Air. Doh!

Sorry to have to do this but [nitpick]…he is actually going from Chicago to South Dakota on Northwest Air.[/nitpick] It still makes him going North by Northwest though.

I was relieved to discover that no one in their right mind was trying to market “Waterburgers”, but trying to tell us “Whataburger” their burgers were.

I was also completely impressed that Arbys = RB’s = Roast Beef’s = Roast Beef Sandwiches.

That’s 30 years well spent, huh? Yep, it’s a good thing I’m pretty. :smack:

Whoa.

Hi, Opal!

I find “How YOU doin’?” to be so last week, don’t you?

Sadly, no. Stands for Raffel Brothers, the restaurant founders (scroll to bottom of page).

Well, Kanga is pretty obviously a kangaroo. Roo reminds me more of a washcloth.

I have always been a huge fan of Jackson Browne. I played that album Runnin’ on Empty till it was worn out.

I got a chance to see him and his band, 15 years or so after that album was released and they were absolutely great. I mean they hit every note of every song. I couldn’t have been more pleased.

Then they played Rosie

And I finally got it.

I laughed so hard I damn near pee’d myself.

Here is a link to the song. I hope you like it.

It took a thread similar to this one for me to realize that michelangelo’s statue of david is the same david as the one from david and goliath. I knew they were both david, I just… didn’t connect the dots.

It also took an embarassingly long time before I got “dew drop inn”.

There was another very recent one but now I can’t remember…

Watchmen : Human bean juice = human being juice!!!
Took 22 years.
