The turns take up to 24 hours per, so a game can last weeks, but usually lasts a few days or so. Once you register there, go to the instructions section. It has 5 subsections that explains everything. There are 8, I think, maybe 7, of us who have been playing on that site since January. Personally, I love it.

I signed up on the site (as "twickster," of course), but don't see how to join the game. I guess it's started already?

I signed up for an account, but it looks like I shouldn't join a game until I get back from vacation. But I will join in then.

Your turn Anyrose.
I always tend to be online around 12-2am EST, so that's most likely the times that I'll be taking my turn unless I'm just bored and lurking on the Risk Boards, as this site looks really fun!

Gah, I want in, but I can only have 4 games at a time.

So I'm stuck as I'm not dying anytime soon... or so I think. Maybe in 3 days?

Okay, I'm in. Another first-timer.

I think I understand the unlimited fortifications. Does that mean in the free move at the end of your turn you can move armies from any territory to another as long as they are linked by territories you own?

After reading the rules again, it sounds like you can do that as many times as you want.

Can any of the more experienced players reccommend a good map for beginners? I know there's Classic and World 2.0, and I know to avoid Doodle Earth. What are some maps we should try out to get some more experience, without being too scary?

I like Iberia and France. What you want for that kind of confidence builder is something with 5 to 6 continents and each continent containing 4 to 9 countries. When you go to either Game Finder or Start A Game, you can click on each map to see a larger picture

Well, you just wiped Anyrose and me out of the game 2324822, but Conquer Club is letting me join public games now. It didn't before, and I thought I remembered it saying you had to win one before you could do that. I can, anyway.

I'm in game 2440450, waiting for two or three more players. Non dopers present, so no strategizing here if anyone joins...

hee hee.

I've been wiped out of most of my games, so here's a new one

2450289 "sdmb" - 8 player, terminator, freestyle -

Freestyle means you only have to wait about a day for each of your turns because we all go at once

Terminator means you get the points as soon as you oust someone, so it's possible for 7 players to earn points in an 8 player game

and 8 players so more of us can play

I joined -- I'd joined the Conquer Club a while ago, and never joined a game. Be warned: I've never played on-line before, so I might be out quick, or have incredible beginners luck.

I have 7 new public games open (no password needed) in case anyone wants to jump in
Just go to Game Finder, select Game Status "waiting for players" and type 'anyrose' into the With Player spot - whatever is open will pop up

unlimited is hella convenient, but i like being able to flank an enemy without worrying about that reinforcement on the other end of the map

hmm, we can ditch this one and create again if you all prefer unlimited. i just wanted to try the new classic map.

I don't like either of reinforcement methods that only allow one move, period. Each army should be mobile, dammit.

Oh, I'm in for Sijinn's new game. I'll probably get Asia.

I'm in too.

Can anyone explain the difference between chained and adjacent fortification to me?
Am I right in thinking-
Adjacent: fortifying once from territories right next to each other.
Chained: fortifying once from territories linked by your other territories.

I love unlimited but I play using adjacent (I think), IRL.

that's correct - but each of those choices allow only one fortification move per turn. Only unlimited is realistic from a strategic POV
