No joy at all in his death, but it is somewhat ironic, especially since one of the first lines in the book is "“This life is a short journey”.
Well, here’s hoping the royalties the book generated allowed him to scratch quite a few off his list.

Discussed this briefly with my gf the other day: I don’t have a bucket list. When I go, I’d much rather people say of me that I lived each day than say “It’s such a shame he never saw Ben Bulben.”
Sad to hear, and I take no joy from his death. But I do have to ask – does anybody know how many things he managed to check off on HIS list?
The linked article says he’s done about half of them.
At least he got the book out as an inspiration to others.
