What's up with the Red Rooster under the Argyle L?

I was wondering if anybody at the Reader knows the status of the Red Rooster under the Argyle L - it's closed down, but owned by someone? The CTA? Why don't they do something with it? Since half a block burned down this winter there are some real concerns with my neighborhood and how it will develop.

Consensus was the CTA holds the lease and was trying to get them out for a few years before they went under anyway in preparation for renovating the Argyle station.

I like this description of the Red Rooster:

"Seemed like a room full of broken men with more disappointments than teeth."
