I just noticed today that the Redbox that was at Belmont station is no longer. Was it not making money or removed as a safety precaution? I thought most of the phone snatching and muggings were closer to the Sheffield area and not actually past the turnstiles.
Do any CTA stations have Redbox machines? Big CTA stations seem like an ideal location.
I didn’t know any train stations had them. I agree, it seems like a perfect spot, someplace you pass frequently almost every day. I did a search and someone on Yelpclaims it was only a test period; Redbox didn’t feel it was a success and started removing them in April.
I’d think even large apartment buildings would be a good location. If there was one in the lobby here, it would get a lot of use from me.
I used the Belmont station Redbox often, but I guess I wasn’t enough to make it profitable.
