What, specifically, would be the negative consequences of allowing members of different races to marry?
(Just curious as to what will happen).

(I would have to say that the consequences of allowing different ‘races to marry’ would be hybrid and possibly infertile offspring. Luckily for us humans there really aren’t any ‘races’, so it’s no problem)

I am just wondering if we would get four pages of acrimonious debate about some custom of the Ooga-Booga tribe in Africa.
The Bible obviously intended marriage as an institution between a white, Christian male and a white, Christian female. Anything else is just twisted. It’s a slippery slope.
How’s that?

Nothing, we already allow interracial marriages, so it would be the same as it has been.
The funny thing about that is that I think there is a very strong case that Christianity was intended to be a force for miscegenation. When you become a Christian you stop being of your tribe and start being a Christian. That’s what people mean by ‘Christian Universalism’. So miscegenation would actually fit perfectly within the Christian framework.
Since 1967, anyway. Many of us are still alive who remember a time before then.
But you did stop short of saying it’s “always” been that, or that it’s the “traditional definition” of marriage, at least.
But . . . but that means we are TOO LATE ! !

Apparently, the different average tooth sizes and mouth sizes between blacks and whites have in some cases been known to cause problematic mixtures in the offspring leading to such things as more widely-spaced teeth or tightly-packed teeth, or overbite. Never mind that it is minor and infrequent. God is telling us something here!:eek:
You are aware, I hope, of the wide range of belief systems using that name. It’s remarkable how often different “Christian” peoples have *killed *each other in the name of their own particular belief, isn’t it? How do you explain that?
If there were such a thing with any coherence or meaning, that is.
There’s a whole lot of material in the Bible supporting actual slavery, you know. No way can the same book be interpreted as not condemning interracial marriage, right?
Every time I read that opinion I wonder if he then started ordering all the white folks to go back to Europe, and so on…
I believe our society would suffer enormous harm - maybe not right away, but within a few generations - say 40 years or so.
I know that the usual suspects here will just foolishly ask me for “proof” or “evidence” or “substantiation” for the FACTS that I’ve posted, so I will now go away.

Really, is there a need for interracial marriages?
For one, the law doesn’t ban interracial marriages. It only bans marriage between whites and nonwhites. Nonwhites, regardless of race, can marry each other. To try to make this about racism is sheer disingenuous bluster.
Not only that, but if for some reason a white person and a black person wanted to be married, it’s easy to draw up the relevant legal documents. There’s nothing banning that, and if they want something approximating marriage, then why not do that?
Interracial marriage is basically a bunch of liberal New York Jewish media types trying to force all of us to accept their life choices. I have nothing personally against African-Americans and whites fornicating, but many people do have real, legitimate concerns about those types marrying. This is how it’s been for centuries, and to allow whites and nonwhites to marry is deeply unnatural and an attempt to undermine the moral basis for our society. You can’t expect a black person to be able to raise children well.
