Of course there are many people, especially on this board, who are both, so they’re stupidest by default. But what about those rare souls who are one but not the other? For example, hard-core Clintonistas who are still upset that Bill and his wife didn’t get a third term, or people who a year ago didn’t even know who the president was but now think Obama’s going to “pay my mortgage”?
Sure there were some things that Bush could’ve handled better, and some he outright handled poorly, but hey… with eight years in office not everything’ll be a slam dunk. So the Bush haters do at least have some shortfalls to point to. However, they’ve let these legitimate points morph into unfocused anger and eventually blame everything from global warming to their erectile dysfunction on Bush. Eventually, like a child who knows they’re distressed but doesn’t have the emotional capacity to deal with it, they wallow into the tired old whine of “Bush is eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil!! <sniff>”
But the Obama worshipers are even worse. They don’t even have anything legitimate to worship, all they’ve done is thoroughly bought into the hype and bluster of some unknown local politician. “Community organizer”? In other words, a grifter for his Ward. The only reason he won his Senate seat was because the better candidate was sidelined by a tawdry divorce. Obama has no legislative record to speak of, is naïve on international affairs, and is hopelessly out of touch on the world stage. (But… psssst… have you heard? He’s black!)
So my opinion is the Obama worshipers are stupidest. It was a hard fought battle, the blind Bush haters are a tough crowd to beat, but for my money it’s the Obama worshipers FTW.
I’m not aware of any real Obama worshippers. The only people I hear talk about it are Fox news commentators and the people who repeat what Fox says they should repeat.
I’m waiting for the OP to produce any evidence of wide-scale Obama worship.
Though I’ll admit the degree of criticism Obama faces from the left hasn’t made it into the mainstream media, because they’re reluctant to acknowledge that there’s anyone besides total wackos to Obama’s left. So it may seem to the casual observer like there’s not much criticism of Obama among libruls, when in fact there’s quite a bit of it.
You can come close if it starts as a box of grape juice from concentrate, which you let ferment in a toilet tank with whatever random eukaryotic micro-organisms you’re able to dig out of your navel with the handle of a plastic fork.
Perhaps you could give us an example, a cite, for one of these unreasonable blame and hatred thingys. I admit to despising Bush and his admin while he was in office. He lied and sent Americans to their deaths and sent them to kill others in an unnecessary war. Has the US benefited in any way from that war in comparison to the cost in lives and treasure? I won’t even get into the many other things he did that concerned and angered me. That’s by far the worst and enough. He lied and sent us to war costing thousands of lives, damaging tens of thousands of others , of US citizens. Well over a hundred thousand Iraqi citizens.
To treat that as “Sure there were some things that Bush could’ve handled better, and some he outright handled poorly, but hey… with eight years in office not everything’ll be a slam dunk” is an astronomically stupid understatement rooted in a denial of historical facts.
So yeah, I despised Bush and Cheney. I often said they ought to be hauled from the WH, tied to the presidential limo, and dragged down Pennsylvania Ave. That’s because war crimes are not the kind of thing I react to with " gee, I wish they hadn’t done that" My hatred and blame was not unfocused or without or valid reasons.
