Bizarre conservative idea that liberals see Obama as a "God"

Has anyone else seem this?

Among the most ignorant of the deplorables theres this idea that liberals love Obama so much to the point of deity workship, apparently - how sad and stupid but not surprising considering how twisted (and factually wrong) their view of the world is…

Just the counterparts to those liberals who believe that some Trump supporters have an idea that Trump is to be worshiped.

You find that bizarre?

There are Trump supporters who don’t believe that?

I’ve never encountered that.
The view that he’s a con artist & fraud seems pretty universal, among non-trumpoids.

Everyday I see both Trump and Obama supporters who see them as infallible. Maybe not god but surely bigger than life.

While stipulating that it isn’t all that common for right-wingers to use the words “Obama” and “your god” all that frequently, I have never seen Trump referred to as “your god.” Where have you seen this?

Notwithstanding Trump’s opinion of himself, of course.

Well, there is this. I’m not sure if they’re being satirical or not. They seem awfully pro-Trump to be satire. Maybe I just don’t get it.

It’s not so far-fetched when you see people glorifying Obama and saying how wonderful he was after 8 non-stop years of fuckup after fuckup.

Just to be clear: In this case, we are to take those folks literally? That they literally think (some) liberals worship Obama like a God? I’d like to hear Left Hand of Dorkness weigh in on this, too.

But perhaps we should ask the OP to at least give us a few examples first, so we know just what we’re dealing with.

I believe it is satirical and quite obviously so. The cover pic on that facebook page is obviously mocked up to look comical. I have only heard the phrase GodEmperorTrump used once and it was used in a light hearted manner.

Classic projection. They wanted a “savior” type, so they presumed that everybody else did. So then, trump comes along, telling them everything they want to hear (which, of course, is what they already believe), and yes, I’ve heard trump referred to as a “savior”.

What is with your literalism these days? This is the second thread where you seem to insist that a certain phrase is either literal or totally meaningless. Did this election do something the the validity of metaphor as a tool of the English language?

And in 4 or 8 years, many/most of us will be saying the same thing about Trump.

Can’t we fucking meet in the middle? The things you thing are “fuckups” are things many hard-working, honest, patriotic Americans think are great. And it’ll be the same way 4 or 8 years from now in reverse. I actually do not think most Republicans are trogyldyte hate-mongering assholes (especially since I used to be one.) I think, for the most part, we share many common goals, but have a different approach/ideas of how to get there and our differences are greatly exaggerated by market and political forces that make it profitable to pit American against American.

What fuckups?
Oh, yes, he hasn’t achieved all he wanted to, but no President does, & overall, he’s done well.
I give him a B+.

It is the permanent anger he never beats the rabbit

Your position is based on a set of flawed facts that inaccurately reflect the world.

Most of the fuckups you think exist either do not, or are simply someone acting within the normal gamut of reasonable actions, just outside the range you’d prefer.

More of a rant really.

Moved from Elections to the Pit.

Thank you.

Clothahump, you’re a non-stop idiot.

I’ve never seen such rock star levels of enthusiasm for a politician as Obama in 2008/09. Probably more accurate to say a lot of liberal women saw Obama as a DILF.

Really? I wasn’t stupid enough to vote for either Obama or Clinton, so I guess that leaves your dumb ass out in the cold, bucky.
