Exotic Putty

A co-worker brought in five cans of Aaron's Brain Putty -- sort of Silly Putty with strange additives. there's glow-in-the-dark putty in several colors, opalescent putty, color-changing thermal responsive putty, several kinds of colored putty and -- best of all -- magnetic putty. This stuff held itself up on our (metal) wall without any other support.

Go to the website and see movies of the magnetic putty swallowing up rare earth magnets as if it were an amoeba. Look at the picture of a live version of "Persistance of Memory" made out of Thinking Putty. And other odd stuff.

be warned, though, the stuff costs $10 a tin. might be worth it, though.

Oh, that magnetic putty is awesome. It's movements look almost intentional, yet are caused by simple forces (well, outwardly simple -- I don't even want to know what goes on inside of that stuff).

We bought a mix of these last year.
I've got one of the purple electric.
We also got some of the magnetic putty.
It's rather fun putting a ball bearing magnets on it, and watching the putty kind of grow around it.

I've had that site bookmarked for some time. Nice to hear that the products are worthwhile, well fun anyway. Guess I need to order some.
