Well, he doesn’t exactly come out and say he’s straight there–just that he loves women. Perhaps he loves both men and women?
Anyway, he’d be my choice, too. I always liked him on Roseanne–there’s a sort of vulnerability there, and I like his curly hair. Plus, the character of Leonard seems like someone I’d get along with.
Sure he does. He says right in the article that he finds the whole “Are you gay? Are you straight?” game silly, but does say that he’s straight…

Johnny Galecki: No, I happen to love women, so I guess that would make me straight—I don’t know. I don’t mean to be so enigmatic, but I’m trying to keep from offending people.
I guess it’s the “I don’t know” part that caused me to write what I did. Wouldn’t a person know what they were? He just seemed to be intentionally vague.
Not that it’s any of my business what he is.
I will say I probably chose Leonard because it was my love of Johnny Galecki from Roseanne that got me watching The Big Bang Theory from the beginning, when critics were trashing it (why do they know?)
And here I thought this was a “Which one are you?” thread. I’m definitely a Leonard, and my best friend is definitely a Sheldon. (We’re both math/physics graduate students.)
I do have to admit, it’s refreshing to see a TV show where the character I can identify most strongly with isn’t the most extremely nerdy one on the show.
Is this one of those “me and the last man on earth” situations? If so, I’d go with Leonard.
