Let's Make A Deal (Wayne Brady Version)

Anyone catch this revived show with Wayne Brady? I've been trying to watch it while I exercise on the treadmill and have a few points/questions.

1. Can you tell they add the moans, groans, and laughs? I mean, you can see people behind Wayne Brady not reacting at all when you hear the sound effects. I guess because he is in the crowd, I notice it more.

2. Where do they get all the costumed people? I used to wonder this on the original with Monty Hall. I get how they do it now the show has been in production for awhile, but how did they get costumed people for the first episode?

3. Does anyone else detect a slight lack of interest from Wayne Brady? When I saw he was the host, I thought, "Oh, yeah, he's a great people person. He'll be great." I think, and I may be wrong, he's just not that into it.

Honestly, I actually kind of like the show, but it does seem to be a good step down from the Price is Right, especially back when that was hosted by an interested Bob Barker(as opposed to those last years he slept through).

Thoughts?

About the costumes, I get the feeling that they're provided by the wardrobe department. They just look a little too good to be homemade.

Overall I think it's a decent revival, even though Wayne Brady lacks that carnival barker quality that Monty Hall had.

The costumes in the original run of the show were actually not part of the show's concept when it began. Apparently, people started showing up in costume so they'd attract Monty Hall's attention and he'd pick them for one of the games. Eventually, everyone was coming in a costume, kind of an arms race of sorts.

Can't speak for the new version. I've seen it a handful of times and consider it pretty bland. Without Monty Hall and Carol Merrill, the show has nothing.

By far not as good as the original, but passable. It kills some time. My husband likes it, so sometimes I'll watch it if I'm home in the afternoon.

I was going to make this exact point with my post as it's the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title. But you beat me to the punch.

You, sir,... are good.

I caught a clip on YouTube. I'd rather watch The Price Is Right.

I watched a while back. Maybe it was because it wasn't shot in HD or the set but something about it seemed... Low-budget and public access-y. And dated, even for daytime game shows. Meh, I never go out of my way to watch it, but it's occasionally on in the background.

I watched some of this recently when I was house sitting. If you've never seen the Monty Hall version it would make a huge difference. This just doesn't compare and I agree that Brady will burn out before too much longer if the show just doesn't die all together.
