For those on low bandwidth: a middle-aged woman is recorded by CCTV petting a cat, while surreptitiously looking at a wheelie bin. After a short time she grabs the cat by its scruff and dumps it in the bin and closes the bin. Her action is definitely premeditated.
Madam, either you’re mentally ill, or you’re one sick cunt. What an outstandingly nasty and juvenile display of cruelty. Well, the good news is that in the former case you’re going to get the help you need; and in the latter, well, you’ve just fucked yourself up six ways from Sunday, and you’re going to have far more than 15 minutes of infamy.
That woman doesn’t deserve to avoid prosecution for something like that. In fact, she ought to be shut in a wheelie bin herself, head first, in a large pile of cat poo. I can’t believe that anyone could do such a disgustingly cruel thing to an innocent animal. The worst thing is that the poor cat was a rescue animal who had minimal trust of human beings, and rightly so, and this is how she is repaid.
I agree with you, animal cruelty is not something to be encouraged. But this hardly registers on my ‘OH MY GOD WHAT CUNT THAT WOMAN IS SHE SHOULD BE SHOT THROUGH THE FACE’ scale.
Cat in a bin = horrible animal cruelty
Raccoon going through garbage = get my shotgun.
Dog in a transport crate = convenient way to transport an animal.
Rat in a kitchen cupboard = call the exterminator
The cat was fine, this time. Who’s to say she hasn’t done this before to other cats that weren’t so fortunate and didn’t end up being fine at the end of it? Some people rely on a cat for companionship and would be devastated by the loss of a beloved pet, especially in such circumstances.
And some people, such as myself, dislike the fact that people own animals that they let roam around freely shitting on other people’s property.
I’m not saying it’s right and the women should be punished, but of all the nasty shit that happens in the world on an hourly basis causing slight emotional distress to a fucking cat is barely worth mentioning. To get all RO about it seems a little over the top.
How the fuck has a video of a woman putting a cat in a bin in Coventry taken over the fucking Internet? Jesus H. Christ, you can’t visit anywhere without being reminded of this non-story. Then there’s the fucking deranged idiots who actually sent death threats. Get a grip, you stupid cunts. I hope the police find you all and administer a LAPD style beatdown.
The Internets is clearly bored - this damn thing has gone worldwide.
People do tend to overreact greatly whenever Cute Fuzzy Animals are involved but being stuck in a bin for 15 hours in warm weather with no water is a bit more than “slight emotional distress”. It’s still a cruel thing to do, especially for no fucking reason whatsoever. Prosecution under the Animal Welfare Act sounds sensible. Shooting in the face - not so much.
I’m also a tad unsure as to why these people have CCTV (useful though it proved to be). Seems a bit extreme, but I guess it’s the world we live in.
Sometimes it’s not the severity of the crime that records the outrage but the callousness and complete pointlessness of it
Yes, one cat in one bin may not be THAT bad when you take into account the amount of anger and publicity it generated, but why would the woman do that? Her apathy and carelessness towards another living being is what upsets me. If I went around tripping people because I was bored, I would deserve a similar amount of outrage compared to if I broke someone’s nose in a fight because they insulted me
