I think my cat is a wannabe Doper

The last couple of days, when I’ve been looking through the SDMB, my cat Stripe has taken an interest. So much of an interest, that he’s tried to get up on the keyboard. He hasn’t shown any interest in any of the other sites I typically visit (news sites, Wikipedia, legal sites, etc.) Just the SDMB.

I’ve been taking him off the keyboard when he’s tried to get on it, but tonight, I got curious–what would he say if he could type something on the SDMB? So I opened up Notepad, and put it on top of the SDMB, so he could see the logo and the list of forums. Here’s what Stripe had to say:

I’m not sure what it means, but knowing Stripe, I’m sure it fights ignorance somehow.

Well, I suppose if anyone was ignorant of the fact that cats are capable of walking on keyboards, then Stripes has fought that ignorance.

The only thing I can make of this by letter substitution is:

ohoh in ino?ni no N

I can only assume your Stripe is a bad speller. He also runs words together and is sloppy in capitalization.

Therefore:

Oh-oh, in ino?n I no N

What are we to make of “ino?n”? To me, it appears to be a failed attempt at the word “innocence”.

Therefore:

Oh-oh, in innocence I no N

Is “no” a homonym? Let’s see:

Oh-oh, in innocence I know N

And that leaves “N”. The big N. The big nothing, no, nada, negatory:

So, it appears Stripe’s message is “Oh-oh, in innocence, I know nothing.”

I’d check the house if I were you.

Some cats have a documented ability to read English. Obviously none can write, just look at the Cat In The Hat. But since the Dope is so Kitteh-centric (Hi Opal!) they wander over to read it and their kitty little paws accidentally mash the keyboard.
