Weird framing in Willy n Ethel comic

Check out today’s Willy n Ethel.

Notice all that empty space on the right? Almost every weekday WnE has looked like this for the past couple of months. (Look through the archives and you’ll see what I mean. I know Joe Martin isn’t exactly the most precise draftsman on the comics page, but I have to think if he’s drawing the strip like this every day, there must be some reason for it. Everything prior to September seems to make use of the entire available space.

Any ideas on what might be going on with this?

I don’t have the slightest clue, but in my opinion that comic is amazingly lame.

Looks to me that’s where he expects the url for his website to be printed…
