Paul Ryan has plenty of fans in the Tea Party. And Sarah Palin has no more than 50% support. Pitted against each other, it would be close to a 50/50 split between them if there were no other alternatives.

The article was pretty astute I thought. It described the nature of the divide in the tea party really well. I'm rooting for the Ryan side myself.

They're on kind of a narrow ledge right now. If they do anything to help the economy, they run the risk of getting Obama reelected. If they keep being obstructionist...they run the risk of getting Obama reelected.

They need to face up to the reality that they were elected in large part by magical thinking, and that whatever they do, or don't do, a large part of their supporters is going to be mad as hell.
